About the event
Join us for a fun and creative 3-hour clay workshop where you'll craft your very own bee-themed butter dish. This workshop is perfect for both beginners and experienced potters looking to explore new techniques in clay construction.
During the first session, you will be guided through the process of rolling out clay slabs, using templates to cut your shapes and assembling the pieces to form a beautiful, functional butter dish. You'll learn essential tips and tricks for working with clay, ensuring your creation is both durable and unique.
To add a touch of charm, we'll focus on a delightful bee theme, allowing you to incorporate whimsical bee designs and textures into your butter dish.
But the fun doesn't end there! In the second workshop you will return to decorate your fired butter dish using a large selection of vibrant underglazes. This follow-up session is dedicated to bringing your butter dish to life with colour, patterns, and details. Underglaze application techniques will be explained to help you achieve stunning results and there will be design templates available if you would prefer not to use your own design.
If decorating your butter dish doesn't float your boat and you would prefer not to join us for the second workshop, we offer a beautiful plain white speckled glaze finish so that your butter dish is still functional and stylish. Book into the single three hour session option if this is for you.
By the end of these workshops, you'll have a beautifully crafted and decorated bee-themed butter dish that's perfect for your kitchen or as a thoughtful handmade gift. All materials and tools are provided, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm, and some space to try our delicious homemade cakes!
