Firing your Painted Pottery

There is no additional charge for us to fire your painted pieces and we aim to have them ready within 10 days or receiving them.

Although the cost of glazing and firing is included in the cost of the pottery, we allow 3 months for it to be returned for glazing and firing, after which, due to the fast-rising energy cost and volatility of the craft trade, we are within our rights to refuse to glaze and fire it. If we make an exception you may be charge for the glazing and firing as we are adjusting our prices when necessary depending on the cost increases. We thank you for your understanding.

Recieving your Fired Pottery

We will aim to contact you as soon as your pottery is ready for collection and will always leave a voicemail if there is no answer. You may arrange to collect your pottery directly from us or we can post it to you.

We will keep your fired pottery for 3 months, if postage is not paid or the pottery remains uncollected in this time, we will dispose of your pottery due to lack of space to store it.

Unfortunately, we do not deliver finished pottery through our local delivery and collection service.

Caring for Your Pottery

Your pottery has been carefully handmade and lots of care, attention and time has been paid through each process to bring you your finished piece. Often these pieces have sentimental value and are precious. If you would like to keep your pottery safe from cracks and in one piece, handle it gently, try not to knock it, drop it or allow other items to fall onto it.

We advise only the gentle hand washing of it in warm soapy water.

Do NOT leave it soaking in water, the bisque is porous and will soak up water which may craze the glaze.

Do NOT put it in the dishwasher.

Do NOT microwave your pottery, this will create extremely hot spots on the pottery which may cause burns.  Microwaving will also risk crazing the glaze.
